- Cropped this image down to a 100x100 base:




- Selected Auto Contrast, then Auto Curves and finally Auto Color:

RESULT:

(**For those without the previous setting options, something close to this can be achieved; adding a color balance layer with the cyan and blue increased gave me a similar result**)

MERGE ALL LAYERS.


- Duplicated new base layer 3 times; settings are as follows, from bottom to top:

screen 100%, screen 100%, soft light 100%

RESULT:


- Created a new layer using a dark brown color (#2F0700); set that layer to exclusion 100%:

- Created another new layer using a lightish brown (#DDE6B3); set that layer to color burn 40%:

- Went back to the bottom and duplicated the base layer, brought it all the way to the top, and set it to soft light 100%:

RESULT:


- Created a Color Balance layer with the following settings:

Shadows: +30, 0, -20
Midtones: +70, 0, -60
Highlights: +15, 0, -15

Preserve Luminosity checked.

RESULT:


- Created a Brightness/Contrast layer with the following settings:

Brightness: +10
Contrast: +20

RESULT:
