A good blogger never writes useless things!

^ Exactly. Whenever I read a "useless" post, I don't go back to reading that blog again, unless it was clearly a fluke or something. It's not only an insult to an intelligent reader, but also a waste of time. I think you can get away with more in formal journalism, but in the blogging world, your readers have so many sources to choose from at the click of their fingertips, that you have to keep it compelling.
