Here are some changes that i suggest :

1. Apply a padding of 5px on the top and right of the banner advt. you have put in your header.

2. Create a uniquely identifying logo for your Blog.

3. There is ample space left on the extreme right side of the 'Home | About | Advertise' links.
Try putting up a link to your RSS feed (with a nice looking RSS icon) there.
