Can anybody elaborate to me, which is the best script for Web Hosting ( that is for a new website ) PHP or ASP. A little elaboration will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

But it's a little comparative discussion. I think you have to choose which one that you know better..

I personally have more experience with PHP, so of course I will recommend it. It of course depends on what your host has installed, but if they have installed both, you have to make a choice. PHP is more popular, though, and so I would choose it.

ASP is the best. more object oriented. that's what my friend says. he is more experienced than me

As you are asking for free webhosting, I think PHP will be better as it is opensource and very rapidly developed. You would hardly find any good free webhost who will be giving ASP for free. And one more thing if you look around, most of the free scripts and web software you will see will be in PHP.

i will say definitely php, but like most people mentioned it is the most popular and the one i am most familiar with.

i wouldnt mind learning asp and see whats so good about it. But it just seems you can do anything with php.

I dont even know how to code in PHP lol...I only know how to code in HTML...Btw, is PHP easier or more difficult to learn than HTML?

PHP as it is simple hence easy to understand and debug the codings...

You can learn both much easily.
But, PHP is more difficult to master then HTML.
