For me its a bit different case, but not entirely different, though.

For the lottery mails,
I created a filter, that if there is the word "lottery" in the From : or the Subject :, it would be moved to spam automatically.

For other mails that generated from *@bellsouth.net
There were about 145 emails address in my block list that has an ending with the domain given above.

So, instead of just marking each different email as spam each time it comes from that domain, a better way was to block the whole domain bellsouth.net

My GMail account hasn't received any spam emails till now.
The feature I mentioned are for Yahoo Mail.

See the steps below :

For blocking all the emails generated from a domain:

Options > Block Addresses > and then in the text field :
Quote:
Add Block
Enter email address (or domain) to block:
Put the domain name which you want to block.
Then click on "Add Block" button.

For Filtering the emails :

That contain these words "lottery", etc...

Options > Filters > Click on the "Add" button.

Some fields that you have to fill in :-

Filter Name : Just put up a name for your filter. (I wrote "lottery filter")
From header : contains : Lottery
Move the message to : Select the "Trash" folder.

Then click on "Add Filter" button , near the bottom-left.

Click on "Add" button again.

Filter Name : Just put up a name for your filter. (I wrote "lottery filter 2")
Subject : contains : Lottery
Move the message to : Select the "Trash" folder.

Then click on "Add Filter" button.

Done.

Repeat these steps for any words that you want to especially block.

But beware, don't put anything in the "Body:" text field. Or overuse the filters.
You may then even unknowingly filter out important emails, that you wanted to receive.

So, add filters with caution.

Hope this helps.

thanx,
Shadab.

but the trick which i had told above, it automatically blocks the full domain/email address of the email sender, i already saw that its block. so instead of going to that block address option, just clicking on spam will auto block the email address/ domain of the sender.

Clicking on "spam" for an email would block just the single email address.
It blocks only the email address that was reported as spam. It won't automatically block the the other email addresses from the same domain.

So, for blocking the whole domain, you still need to go to that option and enter the domain name manually.

thanx,
Shadab.
