So, when i say... LLLL.com, it could mean a 4-Letter domain like ABCD.com
when i say LLLN.com, it means a 3-Letter, 1 Number domain like ABC1.com
similarly NNNN.com can mean 4-Numbered domain like 1234.com

all these are used to "represent" the TYPE of domain that we are having.
