remember, it's the domain name only, no hosting, no website, nothing.....

Without developing content around it then I guess the only value a domain has is relevance to a particular niche and its value will only increase if something happens within that niche to build attention/activity/buzz.

You could built backlinks to it (Sig links, posting domain link on forums ect.)

A good PR is the best way to increase value

I believe that the domain value should related to their products.
Like google, every one know it is search engine; hotmail, it is free internet email provider; amazon, online shopping.

So, the domain value will be increase if your website getting well known.And there are such things that your submission of website on quality sites with great PR counts as well as your site does contain a quality content and meta keywords + PR of your website must be good.

Without website content, the domain name by itself has very little value. Well, I am not really into trading of domains, not my cup of tea.

I think you should build the backlinks for that.

In order to increase a domain names value, you would have to have a great domain name with a high page rank in order to change its value much.

Because, when the domain expires , it loses all its ranks, ect.

BUT!, if you renew and then sell/transfer over to someone else but they change all the websites content, to something that is not so good; then i can also see the ranking falling there.

If theres no website / content on it, then it would be a lil' hard to increase it's value.
Try building backlinks relevant to the domain's name.
