What things you consider to choose a domain name? How did you chose your domain name when you selected one. Please suggest.

Some factors which play / can play an important part in choosing a domain name :

- Easy to Pronounce, Type and Remember
- Short length
- Brandability

And if it's a previously registered domain name, add these :

- Traffic (and the sources too)
- Backlinks (+ to some extent PageRank too)

Also what you plan to do with the domain matters too.

It depends on what niche. Try to do a keyword search first, that would help you in getting traffic. If its for a name, like a celebrity or a place, put that name on the domain and just insert a word or a prefix in it.
