Default Dedicated Server

Hello all,
I have a question regarding domain registration. I'm thinking about running my web site on my own server. So as far as I don't use any provider, how should I register my domain name so people know where to look for my site? I don't want to run DNS server, just web.
Thanks

If you have a dedicated server, then you need to create 'Nameservers' for it.
You need to map the IP addresses of the server to appropriate nameservers. (at least two)

122.168.45.78 -> NS1.yourdomain.com
122.168.45.79 -> NS2.yourdomain.com

(where yourdomain.com is just a domain for use as NS)

And then point your main domains to those two nameservers.

Other simpler approach :
Point your main domain to the two given IP addresses of the dedicated server.

For a complete tutotial,
refer to the domain registrar's site or your webhosting control panel's documentation.

My periodic table contains only 1 element : the element of Surprise.
