Geekpoint Reboot Project - 09-27-2007

We have done this before and I know we can do it again.

Geekpoint.net needs to grow into a large community and it is going to take some time and work. This and resources are more limited now.

Let us first start by listing some goals, and when they are complete we cross them out to show all the progress.

  1. Geekkpoint Main website
Possibly a website that lists tutorials and graphics and all that

  2. Forum Theme
This theme is nice but I like brighter ones.
    [Complete.]

  3. Members
The difficult part. Before we got members by extreme promotions, now we have to be a little more creative.

I would continue soon, I have to go for now.
Please post additional goals and things you want to see happen with geekpoint.net

// Moved to this Forum and made it a sticky too.

Btw, main priority is members,
then after this Forums gets a steady start, i will buy a new theme. [maybe].
Or even consider a free one, [if good enough].

Thanks,
Shadab.

okay, now with the install of the Aria skin,
this part of the project aim is complete.

Lets purely focus on the [Members] part.
Suggest ways to achieve this aim ?

Thanx,
Shadab.

Re: Geekpoint Reboot Project - 10-21-2007

Very good job on the theme part.

As of now we do have a small amount of members coming in, similar to when Cyber-ug started. This is a great start of expansion and I am seeing it.

If there is any revenue coming in to Cyber-ug we could use some advertising methods?

Ok, and now this brings up a remembered aspect, staff. We should get some decent members and invite people that are interested in joining the staff group. The staff really helped cyber-ug as a community.

One of the jobs, being advertiser. On topic, Now i remember what they did, they went through the task of submitting the site to many directories and forums.

So yes, I think organizing a team should be a necessary priority next, when we do there will be more people to discuss these matters. (3 people are really starting this forum well, but it will take a lot of people).

p.s. Also Jex was messaging me to tell him about previous staff members and tell them about our new communities and network, however Jex's interest in Geekpoint at this moment is unknown. Jex is starting a project originally code Anti Hacking Squad which I am developing a web design for.

Yes.. even though the start is slow... I see it as being a fairly steady start.

Right. Staff is sort of necessary for us. Not on the management aspect, but rather on the Advertising part.

Last time Daryo and Gamez did a good job.
Now I'll contact them to see if they are available for the job now again.

And what about incentives for the advertisers if they perform the job well ?
What do ya say ?

Yes... He is not much active.
And there are a lot of reasons which account for it.

And here is one of them :

If there is any revenue coming in (profit) then getting paid can be one of the relaunched incentives to Advertiser staff.

Right.

I too am thinking of paying the Advertisers, on the basis of the number of total members as well as the active ones, that they bring to the GeekPoint Forum.

Although there is no direct revenue coming in from geekpoint,
(we could expect that only when it gets highly active)

But then, there are other sources of high revenues,
thru which I can support the payments and sustain this Forum too.

Thanx,
Shadab.
