I'd say this is the case in all countries. If you pay $700, you can get a good Windows (or Linux) machine. Even if you're American or English, $700 is a good amount of money. There is really no compelling reason why you want to spend twice that to get a computer.

Looks pretty. Not just the machine but also OS and other software. But, you might feel very differently once you start using it. Windows is much easier to 'tweak', so if you're an IT person, you might feel more comfortable using Windows (or Linux) after a while.

For me the most important reason to not go for a Mac is that I'm already sooo used to MS and moving to Mac would be a pain.

i will never change to the MAC cause PCs rule . you can learn so much from a pc , you can do so many things with it . you can have multiple OSs on it and most software developers create softs for windows .

Macs suck, IMO. One button mouse? Flashy comp but nothing to back it up? Not upgradeable easily? PC, please.

Interesting. I have always wanted to get a MAC but I have not been able to afford it.
It costs way too much than a regular PC.
I will wait until the price comes down to get one.

you obviously haven't used a mac ( the double click part is one of the several clues , yes you have a double click on mac , just press ctrl + click)

this article is really funny because you don't seem to know what you're talking about , you base your post on speculation and then you're hypocrit when it comes to windows ( the virus part or the driver part of your post are a very good exemple )

mac simply works it's true , they don't say that it will never crash but it works like a charm for months before having a single problem . windows usually work well only a month and then gets worse and worse when you install programs

my mac is full of prog , beta or not , and is working almost like it's first day of installation

and yes i already had trouble with my mac ... 2 in 2 years

it is sad to see people trying to convince others using such arguements (saying that mac used free bsb because they were unable to create their system is just ... well i don't find the right word )

and then about the criticism on the program , you forget that everything on mac is about the user-experience , you may find the same software on windows but use it and you'll the the difference , everything is nice , smooth , respect a certain logic on mac (like the toolbar always in the same place ect ...)

the best exemple to understand that is the iphone : everybody critics it because it doesn't have some functions , and argue that on windows mobile you got all what the iphone have and more

but use an iphone only a single week and you will understand the difference , it works fine , it's easy to use . and thought for the hardware ( so you don't end up not even beeing abble to close a prog because the cross is too small on your hardware )

well i knew my post was going to be long when i read the title of the thread but i hope you guys won't take those 10 reasons for truth because it's simply not . I Switched from windows because i had so many trouble with it that i couldn't stand it anymore , don't tell me you didn't feel the same even once

it never happened to me on mac ( nor on linux ubuntu by the way)
