Question Buying a 19" LCD monitor - 02-20-2008

I'm planning to buy a 19" LCD monitor.
Good, branded LCD. Be it widescreen, or not.

Which brand do you think is the best ?

Code:
Brand Model No. Price

Samsung 19" 920 NW 8950

Viewsonic	19" VA1912W 9100
Viewsonic	19" VA1912WB 9600
Viewsonic	19" VA903B 9800
Viewsonic	19" VG921M (Square)	9850
Viewsonic	19" VX922 (Square 2ms)	9900

Viewsonic	19" VG1930WM 10100
Viewsonic	19" VG1932WM 10100
Viewsonic	19" VX1945WM 10300

L.G. 19" L1952S 10950
Max. budget : [limit] Rs 12,000

Optimal cost : looking in the range of 8 - 10 k Rs.

Yeah... out of the mentioned models,
i like this one best, from Samsung :

Samsung 920NW Specifications

It has a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and a 3 year limited warranty.
I'll just make sure the connectors are compatible.

My existing monitor has a 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) connector.
And this Samsung one has a 15 pin D-Sub DVI-D connector.

I'll confirm with the vendor.

I found the same monitor at LegendMicro.com for $ 159 USD.
Here : legendmicro.com: SAMSUNG 920NW BLACK 19-IN LCD - Open-Box: 920NW

And searching on other sites,
I confirmed that it is compatible with the existing connector (VGA).

Now I've sent a mail to LegendMicro
asking what will be the shipping charges on international orders.

If the shipping charges are too high,
I'll consider buying the same monitor from a local vendor, instead.

I would go with a widescreen and Samsung (they got a 0-pixel garanty).

But why not getting something bigger? Like a 20" or a 23" screen?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Btw, can't go for a 20" or 23" monitor because of my budget limitations.
(Max i want to spend is Rs.12000 ie, $300 USD)
