Unhappy Monitor Support - 06-11-2008

For the past month, my monitor has lost some pixels on its screen (I see a white Line), further more, my LCD Monitor keeps making 'Squeak Sounds', as if the front panel buttons are being constantly fiddled with.

Monitor is Samsung Syncmaster 150MP. I got it checked at a hardware store, who asked me that its fine, except for that pixel lost. I am not concerned with that at the moment. What I need to know is how to get rid of these squeak sounds. Anybody encountered anything similar, please help me out.

Try this : WHEEEE. (Why is my monitor squealing?)

It’s quite possible that your monitor is on its last legs. I wouldn’t be too hasty about replacing it yet though. Instead I’d suggest you check the refresh rate it's set to use, to see if it’s too high for your monitor.

Pushing your monitor to its limits like that can make it screech and squeal a bit, so you should check this first before you go heading for the repair shop with it.

No Shadab. I read that. The display still hadn't lost its touch, that means there's some hardware conflicting instead. I think my Button panel has become faulty, I think I should get it checked from somewhere else instead.

I remember I had a monitor once that had a dead pixel that was about in the middle of the monitor and used to drive me crazy when I was typing. Does the button area only squeak when it is on? Could it be caused by vibration, such as from walking around or typing?

If you are mobility challenged it may be difficult to walk around and using Electric Mobility Scooters
can help.

No. Its only when the monitor is displaying something. Otherwise no.
