Default The best way to memorize text elements?

I have this feeling I'm not going about this the best way.

I'm trying to memorize the markup language simply by reading, as if I'm memorizing the material for a quiz. It can be overwhelming, since there is so much.

Do you try to directly memorize markup language? Or do you simply reference as you need it?

I can't memorize all the text elements. It's ok to memorize text elements but don't push yourself mastering all of them. There are some sites that can provide you text elements without memorizing.

In fact there are a lot of tags in the HTML. You can't memorize all of them, in fact there is no need to memorize all of them also. You can simply reference these tags as you need.

Memorize some, reference most...
