i think php is harder because it's a server-side language . javascript can be learned in 3 days .

If you already know other real programming language (like C, C++, Java, etc.), yeah, you can start doing stuff in three days.

I agree as well. If you are beginner, Javascript will be slightly easier, although they both have a simple syntax. Javascript is more of a complement to HTML, while PHP is a language on its own (although you can use HTML in PHP).

They are both easy, just hard to start with but after a little while you get the hang of it. But I would have to say PHP is harder.

In order to learn JavaScript, you should really know C++ and Java programming languages.
Thus, PHP will be a LOT easier for you to learn.

PHP is harder to code than JS.. Since there is plenty of tutorials about JS online while PHP takes time to master you already learn JS...

JavaScript is quite easier, thus a bit more limited than PHP. As any other programming language you can learn it the dirty way (just knowing the basics) or also learn some good programming techniques like OOP.

If you are a newbie never ever dealt with programming, I would recommend to start with the concepts of programming (there are many books available, just search at Amazon for "object oriented programming"). Then dive into a specific programming language. This may take longer till you are able to write your own software, but on the long run you profit from this way.
