There is something to be said however for the traffic that a high PR will bring. While maybe it shouldn't be a primary focus, as much as content etc., it is important in bringing new and random viewers to your site for the first time and also will possibly bring them back again. On the plus side, improving the content on your site and your networking and backlinks will inevitably improve your PR. Hope this helps!
