How long ?

Varies. Depends on when the Google updates it's visible Toolbar PageRank (PR).
And this can take at least 1-3 months.

Higher PR ?

Get relevant links to your websites from other high PR pages.

My periodic table contains only 1 element : the element of Surprise.

It usually takes at least three full months for all of your inbound links to be calculated and counted as backlinks. Google's PageRank is calculated based on the relevancy, quantity and quality of your inbound links, as well as the number of outbound links there are on your website. Generally speaking, the fewer outbound links a website has the better.

The higher the PR of your inbound links, the more PR is assigned to your website

As I watched on Google Webmaster tool, at first the Not ranked bar was full and graduall I started to notice that Low Ranked started to grow and not ranked started to rise. I agree, it would take 3, 4 months to reflect the page rank.

As soon as you are indexed on google, but you have to wait for 1-3 months for the correct PR to appear so it is not 0 (blank)

I got PR in 20 days....

Normally PR update are based on 1 month ago form update date.

Like if you get PR in July then it was based on June month's backlinks

I replied to a similar post about how to increase PR Need help to increase the page rank of website !

If you really want to improve your PR - focus on improving on your content. Unique, useful and relevant content relevant to your niche would attract organic linking from other sites that would see the value in your site. SHould this happen, you get all the link juice you need Alternatively, build more dofollow backlinks on directories, logs, forums, SB sites, and other relevant sites as they will help increase your PR in the long run.
Hope that helps on the issue of increasing PR.

Thumbs up

Getting a high PR takes some time and lots of work to achieve, but it's totally do-able. You have to work at it, try to establish more backlinks to your page rather than other sites having a link on your page as a backlink to their site. Also, try to work on having deep links in your page. Having links on each page of your site that will let you go back to the homepage is a form of a deep link. These are also important yet overlooked, and can increase your search engine ranking at a better rate. Also, listing your site in a deep link directory is a great way to get a cascade of trafficing and it also looks good to Search Engines and they increase your ranking faster if your site is doing well from a directory listing than on its own. And there are many others too; this along with forums, blogging, and creating good networking for your site will get you moving towards a higher PR. If your site is really good, updated often and most importantly provides excellent services, then its on its way to being noticed by everyone out there. So, start working on those backlinks on sites relevant to your site and also deep links within your site. Good Luck!

Directories are Awesome!!

I have noticed that new web pages don't get a page rank right away, it actually takes quite a while. I checked on a couple sites, and it looks like it takes about two-three months to get a page rank assigned to your page.

Pages get cached, and much indexed faster than this and perhaps they also have a pagerank. Google only updates the pagerank that their toolbar shows every few months, i.e. on every google PR update.
