Default Link Building

Link Building is the process of getting other web pages, and web sites to place a hypertext link to yours, which generates direct targeted traffic to your site, while more importantly increasing your search engine visibility and rankings. Building links to your site should be an ongoing process of research, communication and attaining quality in-coming links to your web site. Here are some techniques to maintain a strong linking relationship with other relevant websites.

Link Exchanges
this technique is commonly employed to exchange links with other web masters. Where you place a link back to his/her site from your web page, and they'll place a link back to yours.

Article Writing and Submission
Another technique is by creating and distributing information and content to other web pages. There are many web sites that accept article submission and offers for distribution as indicated all over the Internet.

Press Release Submission
It is a way to deliver latest news events within your company. However, it is written in such a way that it will rank well in the search engines for your keywords and provide your website with important back links that will also help boost its position in the search engine rankings.

Directory Submission
Is a very cost-effective way to get links and helps to establish a foundation for Internet marketing.

Forum Posting and Blog Commenting
By posting regularly to these forums and blogs, and properly utilizing the signature tags, you can generate much needed back links to your web page which helps with search engine optimization for your site.

Reciprocal Links with Similar Websites. Its important to pick sites that are of high relevance so you’ll not only get links but traffic. Reciprocal linking can be useful from the beginning but don’t overdo it.

Social Media Profiles. There a whole bunch of social websites online which allow you to insert a link to your website on the profile page. Sign up for some of them, preferably using a username and avatar that brands your business or you as a person. This might come in useful when you decide to promote your site via the social website in the future.

Create a Tool, Theme or Widget. Pay a designer to come up with an add-on application or template that is related to a specific social network, popular website or platform. Include a credit link that points back to your designated website.

Guest posting on other blogs. Like article and press releases, this one involves having readily available content you can send out to certain blogs in your niche. This is great for getting relevant links and traffic.

Social media is very promising. Just from Twitter alone I have had a lot more visitors to my blog who looked at my profile, found the urls to my blog posts, or found my site through my tweets. Plus, Twitter is a lot of fun anyway, you get to stay updated on your friends' and contacts' goings-on and new blog posts, and so on.
