Greetings all.

I have been tracking one of my competitors. Ironically, we know each other and done work together.

I noticed something strange about his submission to yahoo directory. He was able to get listed in multiple categories in yahoo's directory in different countries under the same service category.

How did he do this?

I was under the impression that you can only submit to 1 category. Did i miss something?

May be he have submitted domain, sub domains, pages and sub pages.

Remove htttp. Just try these tricks and I am sure you will be able to do this as well.

but if you remove the 3 x w's surely your site will be penalised for SEO? Its a good trick though.

After your site has been in the directory for a while it does tend to get picked up by yahoo in other countries for some reason, you don't submit to them its just something that happens over time or so I found with a number of sites I used to have in the directory.

Well, as per my knowledge I feel that you can submit your site only once in yahoo directory. If the site is appearing in multiple categories then probably your competitor must have done something illegal to order to achieve it.

in local.yahoo you can get listed multiple times depends upon tags that you have added.

it may b like he has done deep linking else it is not possible...

As far as I know, I think that he had worked with some subpages too, Due to that only this thing can occur
