Try commenting on blog related to your site. Social networking also good for traffic generation.

Following are some tips for newbies to gain traffic for their sites:
  • Find online forums related to your site and become part of the community (along with a suitable signature that links to your site).
  • Add comments to blogs with a link to related content on your Website.
  • Submit on-topic articles to article directories and include your link in the author bio.
  • Submit your link to the many free online directory sites.
  • Add your comments to a guestbook and include your url.
  • Email the webmaster of a related site and ask to trade links.
  • Offer to provide some content for another site in return for a link back.
  • Create compelling and perhaps even controversial content on your Website that people will want to link to.

Submit to site directories
Submit with your site’s name using your keywords, and then you could be ranked more highly on Google for those keywords, which means more traffic.

Joining Communities
Joining forums is a great way to meet other designs and to network. If you become an active member in forums you can use your reputation to promote your website. Many forums receive large amounts of traffic and people pay attention to well respected members with high post counts.

Submit your blog to search engines
Most people get the majority of their traffic from search engines. When people search for your keyword and find your site or blog, there’s more traffic.

Writing articles
Writing articles is a great, free way to promote your online business, and can bring in a substantial number of targeted customers to your site, usually within a few days. The key is to submit your article to as many databases and directories as possible.
