Dreamhost may be good for you if you have a small site, ie, you are just starting up. But once you have a fairly good amount of traffic to your site, I would then suggest you to move to a better webhost.

As I have read in other forums/blogs that DH may block GoogleBot if it visits your site too frequently and overloads the server. And no webmaster would like to block GoogleBot from their site; as SE Referrals from Google are the primary source of traffic for majority of sites.

- DreamHost Blocks Googlebot on Client Sites
- DreamHost blocks Google Bot on Shared Hosting - How stupid?

My periodic table contains only 1 element : the element of Surprise.

When they suspend account for exploading their bandwidth quota, then it's not offering a good service.. Try 1and1 web hosting.. They've been around for quite some time now and claiming their the no.1 web hosting provider..

(to me, it's true since I've tried their service)

Have some sites with Dreamhost since 2002 and everything runs just as good as my other dedicated hosts

Also avoid any hosting company that makes you pre-pay for 24 or 36 months in advance just to get a decent rate. You can find many other hosts who offer good stable hosting with decent packages. Besides companies mentioned at my site another one would be Polurnet. Thats one example. I'd also suggest Hawkhost.
