Default MSN Messenger problem

When I trying to get new messenger install on my pc its say please update your OS.
But when I trying to get update my OS (xp sp2) its not updated.

Now what can I do?

If you are using Windows XP as your OS, update your messenger using the 5.0 version or a latest version. Or try to look for a help on the msn site.

Some time it happens. Just repair your OS. It may be because of your OS one supported file is removed. That is why it gives you error when you are installing MSN messenger.

Re-install your OS and if the problem again persists then check your firewall or internet connections.
