It would be better to use only one anti-virus. There might be some trouble if you will use two anti-virus. More than one anti virus is always harmful and it will affect the speed of your pc or laptop.

It's advisable to run only ONE anti-virus on your PC. Running more than one (realtime-scanning) anti-virus will slow down your PC. As both of them will 'fight' on who gets to scan files first. Choose one and stick to it.

The same can be said for Anti-Spyware and Firewall applications.

I advice you to have one anti virus. Choose anti virus thats really effective.

You should only have one antivirus active to do the real-time scan but you can use more than one for the occasional full scan.

Even if you install 2 av software, under no circumstances should you run the live protection module of 2 or more softwares together. If you want protection of multiple engines opt for a multi-engine av like G-Data AVK.

I've tried installing two different antivirus programs in my PC and I think that they are not effective because you might encounter conflicts in your computer's settings.
